Road closure to all traffic commenced after 9am on 23rd July and re-opened about 4pm. On subsequent days, closure between 8am to 4:30pm by traffic barriers at Abbey End by War Memorial, Bridge Street, Upper Rosemary Hill and Priory Road.

Which bus stops in use at Abbey End during diversion ? Stagecoach buses to Coventry use a temporary stop outside the Library & not shelter C, if diverted along Smalley Place to Borrowell Lane rather than along Forest Road.
Peter PatS (@KenOnWeb) tweeted at 4:46pm – 24 Jul 2014 :-
Rosemary Hill & Abbey Hill have been resurfaced on the Abbey Fields side of the road, including the layby at the bus stop shelter.
All resurfacing and road marking ( both white & yellow ) had been completed on Friday 25th July, so no further road closures & traffic diversions on Saturday 26th July onwards.

Museum press release
New Look to Abbey ‘Barn’ Museum
The upper floor of the Abbey ‘Barn’ Museum on Abbey Fields has been undergoing a ‘face lift’ since the end of last season. It is now a much more user friendly space with smart new display panels.
A great deal of work has been carried out over the winter months by volunteers from The Kenilworth History & Archaeology Society and the Museum re-opened to the public on Easter weekend. It will now be open every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday afternoon from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm until mid- September (admission is free). The refurbishment project will then recommence with completion expected by the spring of 2014.
Jan Cooper, Chair of the Kenilworth History & Archaeology Society, said “none of the work undertaken, or yet to be undertaken, would have been possible without the generous funding received from English Heritage, Kenilworth Community Forum, Kenilworth Lions, Round Table and Rotary, Waitrose and of course the Society’s own members. I am very grateful for the support which we have received from all our sponsors and also from our Mayor, Mr. George Illingworth, and members of the Town Council. It is good to know that all of our Volunteers’ efforts in keeping our Town’s only museum open are appreciated. It is such an important asset to the local community – you would be surprised how many local people still do not know that we have a museum – and it also serves to show visitors from out of town what a very rich heritage Kenilworth has.”
If anyone has an odd Sunday afternoon free and would like to help staff the museum during the summer months please contact khas.secretary@gmail.com or telephone 07971 549963.
The Kenilworth History & Archaeology Society meets on the 2nd Monday of every month at the Senior Citizens Club, Abbey End car park at 7:45 pm. Visitors and new members are always welcome. For details of speakers during 2014 see the website at http://www.midwarks.info/khas.
Beef Restaurant, Kenilworth
Opened by Andreas Antona ( of Simpsons fame ) in 2010 at 11 Warwick Road CV8 1 HD ( 01926 863 311 ), “BEEF” was sold in 2014.
A management buyout by Amir Diba ( Head Chef )

and his wife Shireen Sabedien ( Manager & Waitress ) maintains the high standard of food and service at the same venue with the same telephone number for bookings & enquiries.
However, publicity online and through social media has changed !
Andreas Antona had a website www.beef-restaurant.co.uk and a twitter account @Beef-Restaurant , both now discontinued.

The present owners are developing a website www.beef-restaurant.com and a twitter account @BeefRestaurant as well as Steakhousebeefkenilworth on facebook. Note the small changes in the new addresses !
